Knee High Boots, a Smoke Machine, and a Tutu...

...make some fantastic photos. I had the good fortune to work with a fantastic new model with a sense of fun.

We started off with some basic portrait stuff to get a good working repoire with our model. I always try to start off with simple stuff and save the shots that I really want for the end.

We then moved on to some test shots for an upcoming project that Jessi and I will be working together on in October. Now the funny part about this is that Jessi is kinda a funky, spunky, contemporary kind of gal; so putting her in a giant cinderella wedding gown was not her idea of fun.

Don't you just love the "Happily Ever After" behind Jessi as she looks most certainly NOT happy!



But as you can see; beautiful classy lady that she is, she took one for the team and nailed the shot.



Now to the fun stuff... We got a new fog machine (gotta love Halloween for props) and played with some gels on remote triggered studio strobes inside an unused (and very dirty) warehouse attic.

We finished up in a room with some dirty old chairs and called it a day.

We are gathering models for some future photo projects These projects will range from the almost mundane classic to very surreal and we will need a couple models who will feel comfortable posing in flesh tones bikinis and appear to be nude. We need men and women from 18 up. We will ask you to sign a model release and a non-disclosure form and will of course provide you with copies of the photos that we use as well as giving you personal portrait time. I LOVE MY LIFE! (Yes, I know that I'm yelling)

What a whirlwind 2 weeks we have ahead of us! Getting the Photography Salon ready to open at Blackstone's, a wedding on Saturday, Sunday off (that translates to laundry and yard work), juding for the photography division at the KY State Fair on Monday, Tuesday is the first day of school, and this week is the opening week of Blackstones Bridal with wedding photographs to edit in my spare time. The Funny thing is... I LOVE MY LIFE!

Coding...Coding...Coding... Ahh!!!

As we prepare for the opening of the photography salon we decided that we needed a promotion. Like a Wedding Photography give away. That's right Studio 3.L is giving away a $1500 photography package to one lucky couple. We will start accepting entries August 14th 2010.

Studio 3.L has a new home.

   Studio 3.L has a new home. After August 15th you will be able to Stop by Blackstone's Bridal at 7813 Beulah Church Rd in Louisville and have your photo taken in our new photography salon. For years we have taken so much pride in being an exclusively mobile studio. However, the truth be known sometimes a person just needs a simple head shot and now they can come to us. Don't get me wrong, I will happily lug 738 pounds of gear up 3 flights of stairs if you pay me enough for it, but it's nice not to have to do it.
   It took us awhile to concoct the language to use in regard to the new studio. "Come see the new Studio 3.L...studio...?" So we (by we; I mean I... of course. Poor Eric he never gets a word in edge wise unless.....Oh Yeah I was blogging ) came up with the "Studio 3.L Photography Salon.
   We can't wait to see you there! Keep checking back here. We plan to have promotions posted here, on Facebook, at the salon and thru our webpage.
